Drip irigation system, diagram, requirement kit, installation, and cost per acre

Drip irrigation system is a modern method of irrigation. There are multiple reasons behind the discovery of drip irrigation method. The main reason is water shortage and reduce the unnecessary water usage in irrigation.

Let's understand what are the sections of drip irrigation and how to install it.

Drip irrigation system in agriculture and cost

First we, are going to understand the requirements for drip irrigation system with the help of diagram and various  sections.

Diagram and Sections of Drip irrigation system

The drip irrigation system works in three basic sections; Storage, water supply control, and dripping water.

Storage of water

There are two parts to the water storage section.

Drip irrigation system

First supply- This supply is direct from the underground water. There are controller valves associated with this to handle the source water supply.

Second supply- The first water supply store the water in further tanks for later use(in case of electricity shortage).

Supply control

This supply is associated with another valve to control the water supply direct for the plants.

This secondary supply works as the primary supply for most of the period.

It is easy to set and note the water supply to each plant.

Dripping water

The final section is the dripping junctions of water pipelines.

This section adds the small pipes with the main source pipeline. The main pipeline allows water to flow for all the drip sections.

Requirement for Drip irrigation system

  • Tank storage- For one-acre land, at least a 1,000 liters tank is required.
  • Tank adaptor- The tank adaptor helps to watertight it with the valve for further supply.
  • Single union valve- The single union valve controls the storage tank water supply. Mostly, in drip irrigation, single union valves are used.

drip irrigation pipes
  • Superflow filter- The superflow filter cleans the supply water. The cleaning of storage water depends on the quality of superflow filter layers.
  • Pipes for direct connection- This is the main pipe for the drip irrigation system. This pipeline is 4 to 5 inches in diameter and allows water to flow straights. These pipelines take the bend at the edges of the farming land with the help of elbows.
  • Control valve in a direct pipeline- It is obvious that sometimes, heavy machines irrigation can break the main pipeline by crossing it. You need a control valve to stop the water supply to do not to let the water go waste. Just cut the main pipeline and add two vertical pipes with both ends. Joint the valve in the middle of these vertical pipes to connect them with each other.
  • Water supply poly tubes- Cut the poly tubes of 4mm according to the circumference of the plants. Make multiple holes according to your need in the poly tubes to add the drippers.
  • PVC tee- Add PVC tee at one end of each poly tube.

How to install a drip irrigation system

Following are the steps to install a drip irrigation system on your farm-

  • First of all, install the pressure control valve in the main underground water supply.
  • Connect the underground water supply with the storage tank. Add another control valve with a superflow filter.
  • Dig in straight lines in the parameter of the farming land(at the boundaries, in each row).
  • Now install the main 4 to 5 inches pipeline in this. You can use Teflon tape or PVC glue to attach them.
  • Install multiple control valves in the main pipeline.
  • Now, cut the poly tubes according to the circumference of the plants or trees. Make holes and fix drippers in each cutting. Add PVC tee at one end of the poly tube.
  • Make holes in the main pipeline(Two holes at one point with some distance). These two holes will provide water at both opposite ends. Make holes as much as plants you have.
  • Add PVC pipes of 1 inch in each hole.
  • Connect all the poly tubes with a common pipeline. you need to cut the pipeline and add both ends to the PVC tee of the poly tube.
  • Now, add this pipeline to the main pipeline with the help of an already added pipe.
  • Your drip irrigation system is installed now.

Maintenance work in drip irrigation system

You need maintenance in the drip irrigation system once in a couple of months. Following are the reasons why you need maintenance in the drip irrigation system-

  • You need to change the superflow filter in a few months.
  • When accidentally you break the main supply then you need to temporarily bypass the whole supply. In this period you can fix the damage.
  • Connect the drippers some distance from the PVC tee. In case, when tee gets broken or damaged, so you can cut it at a distance that does not affect the drippers.

Cost of drip irrigation system on a one-acre land-

  • Main supply pressure control valve system- 20,000 INR
  • Tank storage(1000 liters)- 5,000 INR
  • Tank adaptor- 2,000 INR
  • Single union valve- 400 INR
  • Superflow filter- 800 INR
  • Pipes for direct connection(4 inch)- 3,00,000 INR
  • Pipes for each plant- 4,500 INR
  • Female elbow- 1,000 INR
  • PVC Tee- 13,500 INR
  • Drippers- 9,000 INR
  • Teflon tape/thread and PVC glue- 500 INR

Total drip irrigation installation cost- 3,56,700 INR/acre

Gir cow milk per day, price, identity, feeding, ghee, and use in dairy farming

Most people keep doubts in their minds that desi cows are not good to start a dairy farming business of high investment and low production of milk. But Gir cow is among those high milk-producing cows that can compete with HF and Jersey in some sense.    Gir cow and milk production in India Even after keeping a desi tag, Gir cows are either the first or the second choice to start dairy farming in most of the country regions in India. Gir cow milk and Ghee quality is very unique and high, feeding and caring are very affordable and easy to manage even in a small budget.  Gir cows are very productive and useful in Sustainable dairy farming projects. Gir cow identity Head and body structure Gir cow head is quite different from other desi cow breeds. Gir cow's forehead is Bulging out. Her horns are quite curved upwards. These horns are not so big but they are one of the signs to identify the Gir cow breed. Just beside horns, Gir cow ears rest downwards. Jersey cow eyes color is black but

45 days chicken(broiler) business plan, requirements, license, investment, and profit calculations

With the increasing demand for chicken in the market, it was always difficult to raise chicken faster. In 3 months period, poultry farms' reach was not effective in all the places. But 45 days chicken business plan fulfills the requirement, demand, and supply in the market of chicken.  Let's understand how 45 days chicken poultry farm works and what are the requirements to have a poultry farm. 45 days chicken(Broiler) business plan What is poultry farm business of 45 days? Broiler chickens are one of the fastest-growing chickens. The main reason for the short-term 45 days chicken business plan is demand and supply in the market. Chicken demand is so huge in the market. If we follow poultry farms with more than 3 months of breeds, then it can affect the stability of chickens in the market. It can increase inflation.  One more thing to starting 45 days chicken farm is because it gives a faster profit margin to the owner. Also, 45 days chicken farm is good to raise and handle a hu

Hydroponic farming setup cost, subsidy, investment and profit margin in India

We use water mixture minerals necessary requirements that plants need. We don't use soil in hydroponic farming. Even in a small space, we can practice hydroponic farming.   Its like similar to the working of in a  pr

HF cow and milk production per day, price, and milk price per litre

The thing that bothers beginners of the Dairy farming business is the selection of high milk-producing cattle.  Holstein Friesian  is the full name of HF cow. For dairy farming purpose, people want to have hf cows instead of many desi cows. HF cow milk production is very high in comparison of desi Indian cows. Let's understand the performance and all the important points of HF cow and its milk.  HF Cow and milk per day HF cows are not Indian but they are popular in India. Some people can't distinguish between Jersey and hf cows.  Let's start with how to identify hf cows. HF cow milk production per day in India The cow milk production depends on the lactation frequency.  HF cow gets the first lactation after becoming at least 2 years old. Then for the next 8 to 10 months, she produces milk, and rest of 1.5 to 2 months she rests.  On the first lactation, Hf cow produces 35 to 40 liters of milk per day for the next 2 months. Later it starts to decrease and stop to 30 liters pe
