Rain water harvesting system, agricultural model, method process, drip irrigation with rainwater harvesting, and requirements

Water shortage become a big problem around the world now. In the future, water shortage can take a destructive form and can stake the life of humans for drinking water. Not even drinking water, also for other usages.

To overcome the water shortage problems and conserve water, a rainwater harvesting system is a very impactful model.

Let's understand the rainwater harvesting system and model so that you can implement it on your own.

Rainwater harvesting system for houses

A rainwater harvesting system is a method that can be helpful in terms of sustainability. In those regions, where the climate is odd, they face the problem of water shortage as well as hot region people.

rain water harvesting system

It works to collects rainwater and stores it for future use. It can implement in regular houses, shops, buildings, stores, or anywhere where roofs are sloppy.

Let's understand the rainwater harvesting model.

Rainwater harvesting model

The rainwater harvesting system model working process completes in multiple sections. There are multiple models of rainwater harvesting for particular purposes like general use, industry use, agriculture use, drinking water, etc.

Today, we will understand the agriculture model of the rainwater harvesting system.

Let's understand section by section.

Sections and process of rainwater harvesting system for agriculture

Collection of rainwater

This is the first section of rainwater harvesting, where the system is designed to collect rainwater with the help of a funnel and pipes.

rain water harvesting system model

These pipes fix downwards with the sloppy terrace of the houses. The open end of funnels fix with the end of the sloppy rooftop and connect with the pipelines all around the house.

Storage of rainwater

The second section starts with the pipelines. These funnel attached pipelines end in the storage chambers to collect water. These chambers can be sized of your need over the ground or underground.

The popular way is to make them underground for ground space. These pipes end in these chambers where water can rest for longer periods.

Although if you keep water in chambers for a longer period then it will not help in agriculture. So time to time water treatment is important in the chambers.

You can add multiple chambers underground with the help of pipelines.

Distribution or supply for further use

Now, you have collected water. So you need to pump it further for irrigation and other usages.

You need valves and a pumping motor on the other side of the underground tanks. You just have to connect the chambers with the electric pumping motors through pipes. Next, attach a valve to the other end of the pump. This valve controls the water supply from the underground chambers.

This valve connects the pipes in further tanks. These tanks can because as drip irrigation water sources or direct sources of water for agriculture.

Requirements to make a Rainwater harvesting system for agriculture

Water collecting drain funnel pipelines

Water draining system- Fix the sloppy roof with funnels all around the roof boundaries.

Funnel size- 4 funnels on every vertex of each with 10 inches funnel.

Pipes- 4 inches pipes connect funnels with the chambers. Height depends on your house.

Underground storage chambers

Non-leaking chambers- construct with bricks and cement. Use a tarpaulin sheet to make it waterproof.

Connecting holes in each chamber- Two 4 inches holes in each underground chamber. One to connect them and one to supply water further through pipelines.

Final supply pump and valves

Supply pipeline- 4 inches PVC pipes.

Electric pump- 2 horse power

Valves- High-quality valves to control the water supply.

Storage tank for direct supply- 5000 liters tank for further supply. Connect valve on the other side of the 5000 liters tank.

Rainwater harvesting system with drip irrigation for agriculture

The rainwater harvesting system can be complemented by the modern method of irrigation. Drip irrigation is very impactful when you have a water shortage.

You just have to connect the drip irrigation system with the final supply tank and it will be active your drip irrigation water.

This combination of rainwater harvesting and drip irrigation is a very sustainable and highly modern method that can be very impactful in the least rain or water shortage regions.

How rainwater harvesting systems can be used in agriculture practices?

There are many primary and complementary rainwater harvesting system models for irrigation purpose. Some of them are following-

Submersible storage rainwater harvesting

Instead of underground water tanks, it is possible to restore the water in the ground. By using a submersible, you can restore water in the ground easily.

You have to connect the end of rooftop rainwater harvesting pipes directly to the submersible.

This is a very long-lasting futuristic method for water conservation. This is highly sustainable for future use. It has multiple benefits including regaining moisture in the soil, avoiding drought, for irrigation, drinking water, etc.

Drip irrigation and rainwater harvesting

One of the most significant and modern methods that can use in water shortage regions is drip irrigation. In agriculture, drip irrigation can increase production even in the overall lack of water.

The combination of drip irrigation with rainwater harvesting systems is significant.

Irrigation sprinkler and rainwater harvesting

Like the drift irrigation method, an irrigation sprinkler is also a valuable irrigation technique that can be helpful in future irrigation.

Spraying through narrow pipes connected with rainwater harvesting is helpful for almost every type of crop.

With the increasing demand for chicken in the market, it was always difficult to raise chicken faster. In 3 months period, poultry farms' reach was not effective in all the places. But 45 days chicken business plan fulfills the requirement, demand, and supply in the market of chicken.  Let's understand how 45 days chicken poultry farm works and what are the requirements to have a poultry farm. 45 days chicken(Broiler) business plan What is poultry farm business of 45 days? Broiler chickens are one of the fastest-growing chickens. The main reason for the short-term 45 days chicken business plan is demand and supply in the market. Chicken demand is so huge in the market. If we follow poultry farms with more than 3 months of breeds, then it can affect the stability of chickens in the market. It can increase inflation.  One more thing to starting 45 days chicken farm is because it gives a faster profit margin to the owner. Also, 45 days chicken farm is good to raise and handle a hu

Hydroponic farming setup cost, subsidy, investment and profit margin in India

Some people get suddenly excited by hearing the thumbnail or profit margin that people claim in hydroponic farming. Such people easily become ready to start their own hydroponic farming business at the commercial level. But sadly they don't know the truth of training, setup, investment, and profit margin in hydroponic farming. It is better to get at least a practical idea to start a hydroponic farming business.  The following will help you to get an idea of investment and setup cost(initial and per cycle) in hydroponic farming.  When we talk about Hydroponic farming, we can relate it with  eco-friendly methods of agriculture. Hydroponic farming setup cost/investment in India Hydroponic farming is soil-less vertical farming that is very helpful in urban agriculture. We use water mixture minerals necessary requirements that plants need. We don't use soil in hydroponic farming. Even in a small space, we can practice hydroponic farming.   Its like similar to the working of in a  pr

Spirulina farming, project report per 1/4th acre, investment, profit per 1/4th acre, and challenges

There are very less veg options available that have the same or higher percentage of protein than meat. Spirulina is high in protein, quality diet, high in minerals, and we can consume them without cooking. Often, people call it future food.  There are very less farms of spirulina farming so its market price is very high. The spirulina farming business will become more profitable in the future. Let's understand the spirulina farming and project report for 1/4th acre. Spirulina farming  What is spirulina? Spirulina is a sea algae. Spirulina contains one of the highest percentages of protein in all diets. Vitamin B, K, antioxidants, and amino acid are some of the other major components of spirulina. One you start spirulina farming, you can harvest for next 5 months without adding or preparing any new culture.  There are two types of spirulina; human consumption and animal consumption.  We can harvest animal spirulina in the open-air pond but for human consumption, we use either a pol

Onion farming yield per hectare, investment, and profit per hectare

In countries like India, there are several reasons of vary in onion prices. Before mentioning those reasons, let's understand the basic principle of it. Onion farming profit depends on quality of  onions, yield, and the demand of onions in market. If onion is enough in market then profit will be little lesser and vice versa. In India, every year hundreds of quintals of onions waste because of storage and management lack.    To understand the onion yield in a hectare land, first you have to understand structure and project of cultivation.  Onion farming yield per hectare In 1 Hectare(10000 square meters) agriculture land, produced onions yield most of the time varies. This number can't be certain all the time but there is a range between 100 to 120 quintals/hectare/yield.   Let's understand how this number can calculate or report direct from the cultivation side.  Configuration of onion plants Line to line, plant distance must be near 25 to 30 cm, plant to plant distance mus
