Sustainable poultry farming in USA, project report, requirements, and outcomes of sustainability

It is not common on present poultry farms to make poultry farms sustainable. At ground level, most poultry farmers ignore the scope of poultry farming because of the success of the poultry business.

Surprisingly, there are less than 1% poultry farms that are highly sustainable.

Sustainable poultry farming in USA

Some experts criticize sustainable farming as they said that it is not applicable everywhere. Either we can agree with them or we can oppose them. But practically we try to find ways to make things closer to sustainability(even in the least chances of sustainability).

People expect sustainability a complex process. In reality, it is not complex but a bit more time-consuming.

Let's understand the sustainability of poultry farming.

Is it possible to make poultry farming sustainable in USA?

Well, we can make 75% to 90% of poultry farms sustainable. It is because we need vaccines for chickens, poultry farming sheds, and poultry farming tools to manage the other works of poultry farm.

Sustainable poultry farming

For the rest of the requirements, we can make poultry farming sustainable like for feed, water, electricity, etc.

We can use solar energy, rainwater harvesting, and organic compost(made of chicken shit).

Let's understand how things work in a sustainable poultry farm.

Working principle of sustainable poultry farming

A sustainable poultry farm is a practice to reduce the dependency on market arrangements to the available natural resources like solar energy, rainwater harvesting, and chicken feed in a sustainable manner.
Sustainable poultry farming is a good example of the natural cycle adaptation with a business.
For example, we feed chickens, they leave chicken manure. We make organic compost from it and use it to grow feed for chickens or humans. Thus things return in the same cycle from where they started.

It is better to get proper training regarding the health stages of chicken, vaccines, feed, drinking water, and temperature management in various climate conditions.

Requirements to make poultry farming sustainable

Let's start with the requirements to make a poultry farm sustainable

A poultry farm setup

We have discussed before that how to make a poultry farm. You have to finish the work of shed designing and leave space for further adjustments like solar plates, rainwater harvesting system, and compost-making chambers.

You have to remember the measurements according to your business model. For example, to make a poultry farm for 1000 chickens, you can use either cage system or cage free poultry farming. In cage free poultry farming, it is easy to collect chicken manure and in cage poultry farm it is easy to maintain hygeine.

Solar energy plates

For the poultry farm electricity, you need solar energy plates. These plates help in the light to maintain inside temperature, to run fans, motors, etc.

You can either rely on manual electricity or you can use electric inverters that charge from solar lights to use in night. LED lights are better, long-lasting, and low-energy consumers. So either replace them with high-power bulbs or fix them from starting.

Rainwater harvesting system

The rainwater harvesting system helps to collect water. We can use this water for multiple purposes.

On a poultry farm, you need to connect it with the sloppy roof. You need to make underground chambers for it. We already discussed the rainwater harvesting system for sloppy roofs.

Compost making chambers

To make compost from chicken manure, we need a proper and clean area(separate from the poultry farm). Collect the chicken manure there. It is better to use a manual collection of chicken manure.

Well, connecting drainage directly with the collecting chamber may reduce the fertility of chicken manure. A chicken produce 30 to 40 grams of chicken manure daily. So in a farm of 1000 chickens, you will collect 30 to 40 kg of chicken manure. Monthly you will collect 9 quintals to 1 ton of chicken manure to make compost.

Repeat the same process of making organic compost from chicken manure and use that direct in your agricultural crops.

Outcomes from sustainable poultry farming(USA)

Following are some of the sustainable poultry farming-

  • Adding sustainability to poultry farming increases the dimension of profit and reduces the monthly cost.
  • Sustainable poultry farming reduces the bad impact of regular poultry farming on the environment.
  • Sustainable poultry farming is applicable anywhere in any climate conditions but you need proper knowledge and training.
  • Sustainability decrease the mortality rate among chickens in poultry farming.
  • Sustainable poultry farming is indeed good but it cost extra money at the time of the establishment of a sustainable farm.
  • In sustainable poultry farming, we make highly organic chicken manure compost for the entire year. It is highly productive and increases natural fertility in the soil.

Spirulina farming, project report per 1/4th acre, investment, profit per 1/4th acre, and challenges

There are very less veg options available that have the same or higher percentage of protein than meat. Spirulina is high in protein, quality diet, high in minerals, and we can consume them without cooking. Often, people call it future food.  There are very less farms of spirulina farming so its market price is very high. The spirulina farming business will become more profitable in the future. Let's understand the spirulina farming and project report for 1/4th acre. Spirulina farming  What is spirulina? Spirulina is a sea algae. Spirulina contains one of the highest percentages of protein in all diets. Vitamin B, K, antioxidants, and amino acid are some of the other major components of spirulina. One you start spirulina farming, you can harvest for next 5 months without adding or preparing any new culture.  There are two types of spirulina; human consumption and animal consumption.  We can harvest animal spirulina in the open-air pond but for human consumption, we use either a pol

Hydroponic farming setup cost, subsidy, investment and profit margin in India

Some people get suddenly excited by hearing the thumbnail or profit margin that people claim in hydroponic farming. Such people easily become ready to start their own hydroponic farming business at the commercial level. But sadly they don't know the truth of training, setup, investment, and profit margin in hydroponic farming. It is better to get at least a practical idea to start a hydroponic farming business.  The following will help you to get an idea of investment and setup cost(initial and per cycle) in hydroponic farming.  When we talk about Hydroponic farming, we can relate it with  eco-friendly methods of agriculture. Hydroponic farming setup cost/investment in India Hydroponic farming is soil-less vertical farming that is very helpful in urban agriculture. We use water mixture minerals necessary requirements that plants need. We don't use soil in hydroponic farming. Even in a small space, we can practice hydroponic farming.   Its like similar to the working of in a  pr

Precision farming, components, working technology, advantages and disadvantages, scope in rural India

Every year, millions of liters of water, tonnes of fertilizers, and pesticides use in agriculture. Every farmer knows the approximate figure for using the amount of these. But practically, people use an unnecessary amount of the components of agriculture. This is not good for sustainable agriculture.  Precision farming helps to overcome the problem and reduce the wastage of water, fertilizers, and pesticides and save money and time. Let's discuss how it works. Precision farming and technology  Let's start from starting. Let's understand the working of precision farming and then move on to the technology use in precision farming.  What is precision farming? Precision farming is a modern agriculture technique that helps to improve the overall productivity of crops by making precise data and predictions regarding soil needs, plant growth, and weather. Working of precision farming Precision farming collects the sample data of soil and generalizes it by mapping soil, land, and m

45 days chicken(broiler) business plan, requirements, license, investment, and profit calculations

With the increasing demand for chicken in the market, it was always difficult to raise chicken faster. In 3 months period, poultry farms' reach was not effective in all the places. But 45 days chicken business plan fulfills the requirement, demand, and supply in the market of chicken.  Let's understand how 45 days chicken poultry farm works and what are the requirements to have a poultry farm. 45 days chicken(Broiler) business plan What is poultry farm business of 45 days? Broiler chickens are one of the fastest-growing chickens. The main reason for the short-term 45 days chicken business plan is demand and supply in the market. Chicken demand is so huge in the market. If we follow poultry farms with more than 3 months of breeds, then it can affect the stability of chickens in the market. It can increase inflation.  One more thing to starting 45 days chicken farm is because it gives a faster profit margin to the owner. Also, 45 days chicken farm is good to raise and handle a hu

Onion farming yield per hectare, investment, and profit per hectare

In countries like India, there are several reasons of vary in onion prices. Before mentioning those reasons, let's understand the basic principle of it. Onion farming profit depends on quality of  onions, yield, and the demand of onions in market. If onion is enough in market then profit will be little lesser and vice versa. In India, every year hundreds of quintals of onions waste because of storage and management lack.    To understand the onion yield in a hectare land, first you have to understand structure and project of cultivation.  Onion farming yield per hectare In 1 Hectare(10000 square meters) agriculture land, produced onions yield most of the time varies. This number can't be certain all the time but there is a range between 100 to 120 quintals/hectare/yield.   Let's understand how this number can calculate or report direct from the cultivation side.  Configuration of onion plants Line to line, plant distance must be near 25 to 30 cm, plant to plant distance mus
